In the last month or so, I’ve shot a Gordon Lightfoot concert, a wedding and a prom. Then I spent a week in Cuba.
I have a ton of editing to do, but I should have new photos up here soon. Stay tuned!

On March 25, I had the chance to see one of my life-long musical heroes in concert. Steven Curtis Chapman is not only extremely talented, it’s also very down-to-earth. Unlike other artists, he spent a lot of time just chatting … telling stories behind the songs and sharing pieces of his journey. Afterwards, I felt like I had spent three hours in his living room – and I loved it.

Geoff Moore joined Steven on his tour … the two sang together and also just chatted. They are pretty funny guys.
Also on stage that night was Steven’s two sons: Caleb and Will Franklin. Caleb, the oldest, has started his own band with a couple of friends, and the group opened the night with some of their own tunes.
Do you ever see a photo and think, “That could totally be an album cover?” Well, that was the point of my latest shoot.
My sister and her friend, both extremely talented young women, recorded and produced a CD of Christmas songs for friends and family. Guess who was asked to do photography for this project? Yup, it was me. It was my first real studio-esque shoot. And it was so fun! Here are a few shots that didn’t make the cut into album artwork, but I love anyway.

I was all set. My alarm was ready to go at 1:30 a.m. so I could get up and take photos of the lunar eclipse. Except the buzzer didn’t sound. Fortunately I woke up around 3 a.m. anyway, and spent two hours outside with my tripod, faithful Nikon D50 and an old school 70-210mm lens. Here are a couple of my shots.

Eventually I was forced inside by cold fingers and a severely depleted battery. But I’m so glad I didn’t miss it. A couple more of my photos are online here.
I love Remembrance Day. That may sound odd, considering it’s a day of somber ceremony, emotional tributes and serious reflection. For me, it’s all of that but also a celebration of the freedoms we enjoy because of those who died for our sakes. They died so we could live. So let’s live to the fullest, shall we?
Today I was covering the events in Cornwall that marked Nov. 11. A parade, speeches, the moment of silence, laying of wreaths. The hauntingly beautiful notes of the Last Post. For full coverage from the Standard Freeholder, click here. But otherwise, scroll down for some of the photos I snapped at the ceremony.

There are several new, never-before-seen-on-this-blog photos up on my Facebook page. I’ve been updating that site more frequently just for the sake of convenience, but I will still be using this blog to post from more major shoots. Oh, and if you’re on flickr, find me on there and teach me how to use it, please!
Feel free to leave me a comment if you want more information on prices or would like to set up a shoot.
It was my first time shooting a full wedding day – prep, ceremony, portraits, reception – the whole works. Other than a hair fiasco to kick off the day and then missing the exit to the church, everything went pretty smoothly. It was freezing cold for our outside photo shoot, but we had a great setting and everyone looked gorgeous. Here’s a quick peek at some of the shots.

I had the opportunity to see one of my favourite bands of all time last Thursday. David Crowder Band rocked the house, as expected. Here’s some photos I snagged of a few of the crazy-looking but uber-talented musicians.
